We were going to do our team photo shoot at a nearby lake, but threats of rain changed our venue to the Grove Park Inn (a beautiful old lodge on the top of a mountain!)

Parts of the Parkway are closed in the spring, so we had the entire road to ourselves. The view was spectacular! Along our descent we had to dodge road debris from the winter's storms and maneuver through dark tunnels which, for moments, were completely black!

And so it begins...

After many miles on snow covered roads, I'll join my teammates in North Carolina for our training camp at the end of January. Until then, on come the booties, balaclava, and lobster gloves for another epic ride.
